CHROMEBOOK VS MICROSOFT WINDOWS
CNET NEWS July 19, 2014
Highlight Quotes:
*Chromebooks continue to give Microsoft and Windows trouble. And Microsoft continues to make a case against them.
*Sales of chromebooks -- inexpensive laptops that run the Google Chrome operating system -- jumped 250 percent year-over-year within the "US commercial channel," in the three weeks
*Don't think Microsoft is just a little bit concerned? Think again. Dell, a major purveyor of Windows laptops, said this week that it had to halt sales of its Chromebook because it couldn't meet demand. Dell..."Due to strong demand, the Dell Chromebook 11 is currently not available for order on Dell.com.
*The NPD report goes on to say that the Chrome OS "has become a legitimate third platform," challenging both Windows and Mac OS X (and iOS).
* Chromebooks start at $199. Microsoft responded to that challenge this week. A $199 HP laptop running Windows 8.1 that will be available this holiday season to challenge the Chromebook.
*I expect the Chrome argument to only get stronger, as Chrome incorporates more Android elements into the operating system. And, yes, Microsoft should be worried.
*Microsoft dedicated a full page to make sure you understand why Windows is better than Chrome.

PC: Internet Explorer Browser
HOW TO RESET IE 11
back to default settings in win 7
Data copied from http://windows.microsoft.com Reset Instructions and IE Settings.
*This may fix IE rendering and other issues.
By resetting Internet Explorer settings, you return Internet Explorer to the state it was in when it was first installed on your computer. This is useful for troubleshooting problems that might be caused by settings that were changed after installation. It does not delete your favorites, feeds, Web Slices, and a few other personalized settings.
Resetting Internet Explorer's settings is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings are lost and cannot be recovered. Rather than resetting everything, you might want to reset specific settings or delete your webpage history.
You might want to back up your home page or home page tabs. To re-enable add-ons, see Internet Explorer add-ons.
Instructions to Reset Internet Explorer:
1. Close all Internet Explorer windows that are currently open.
2. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
3. Click the Tools button Tools, and then click Internet options.
4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
5. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
6. When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, tap or click Close, and then click OK. You'll need to restart your PC for these changes to take effect.

Inline-Block element is only supported by IE8+. Internet Explorer 6 and 7 only supports elements that are naturally inline by default. Inline-block is naturally a block element thats forced to inline. See the workaround compatibility solution below for IE and other browsers.
